Cooking for schools
Cooking is also a perfect tool to captivate and stimulate children’s interest and enjoyment of food as well as building their self-confidence so they are always proud of the dishes they have made. In primary schools food education, including cooking and food skills is a statutory part of the primary curriculum within design and technology and science. Elements of healthy eating, especially the social aspects, are also covered within PSHE.
Little Sprouts can support schools to play their part in reducing childhood obesity, supporting ‘healthy weight, healthy lives’, and a healthy enjoyment of food.
Addressing the new school curriculum directives, our experience allows us to deliver practical, quality cooking and nutrition education through our innovative workshops.
We take care of the planning, preparation, food and delivery to provide engaging cooking sessions on- site via our mobile kitchen.
Linking practical cooking skills to year group topics, and utilising where available school allotment produce, we help children and school to meet their Science and Design and Technology objectives.
